Woolich ECU Flash Quickshifter Auto Blip Downshift Dilemma!

    Hey Guys,

I've just had the ECU flashed on my 2023 ZH2 by Woolich and immediately noticed that the auto blip downshift operation is no longer silky smooth. Upshifts are smooth like butter but the bike now surges or bucks when using the quickshifter to downshift throughout the rev range (although it's less noticeable at 6,000+ RPM). Needless to say it's become extremely disconcerting before corner entry....

Could it be due the "decel cut" being turned off and now it's simply over fuelling during the blip or is it related to the "Accel enrichment" also being turned off?

Any thoughts, experience or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    My bike is stock.
I've had a downshift surge a few times when using the quick shifter.
The times it happened to me it was quite a forceful surge and very unsettling entering into a corner.
I believe I may have left my throttle slightly open the times the surge occurred.?
The quick shifter requires the throttle be fully closed when downshifting.
Not much help, but my thoughts.

Yes, I always ensure to fully close the throttle when downshifting with the quickshifter. Will revert to the stock tune if reactivating the decel cut doesn't resolve this issue. I'd much rather a smooth, predictable, safe auto-blipping downshift activation than more grunt....

Its for sure the decel fuel cut. I was having this issue after getting the wifes z flashed and noticed on my sx its checked and on the z it isnt. Checked the box, so i guessing disabled the fuel cut and sprays a little fuel on decel? Now its smooth. Downside is there is pops and bangs when shifting aggressively without the quick shifter and every upshift with the quick shifter.

Do you have the Pair Valve/AIS blocked off? Apparently this reduces the off throttle pops...

I do, yes. Really shocked its still doing it. Its not consistent pops and crackles like some tuners do on decel. It just pops once on up shifts.

I'm going to try the following:

    1. Activate decel cut
    2. Deactivate accel enrichment

Hopefully this remedies the surge/jump during auto-blip downshifts and the frequent pops when changing gear!

I'll keep you posted as I'm revisiting the tuner on Monday.

Seems that if you've altered the way the engine responds to throttle opening (accel enrichment) and closing (decel cut) then it will affect the autoblipper.

    See:

    Can anyone support this rationale?

RESOLUTION UPDATE: The quickshifter auto-blip downshift surge/jump issue has since been rectified with the re-activation of the "Decel Cut" setting. Downshifts are now back to being silky smooth with minimal pops when changing up between gears. Note that my pair valve/AIS has been blocked off and the "Accel Enrichment" setting was changed back to the stock setting.    :082:

I'll just run her in "Rain" mode when I'm out touring and requiring better range.....

It was new to me that Z H2 has "autoblipper" as the throttle need to be closed for downshifts without clutch to "work".

I have also deactivated fuel cut (decel) using Woolich and have no issues with "non-autoblipper"  :016: downshifts, but can see that disabling this might give the "surge" issues reported by TS.
