2014 Z1OOO bought new. First Sporty, no test ride. I went in for dirt bike parts, saw it on the showroom floor, left my truck in the parking lot and rode it away and never looked back.
Such a rush, like getting laid for the first time. :149:
When I was buying it, the salesman said you've never ridden a Sportbike before, how do you know you're going to like it? I said LIKE? I already love this bike

After years on cruisers I got bored with 70 to 100 hp and 700lb bikes, had an FJR1300 for a few years then was on a KTM 1290 super adventure, loved the KTM but it had a bad habit of developing a head shake at high speed, ended up getting a tank slapper at 125 and totaling it out... but my insurance company was kind enough to buy me a ZH2 to replace it  :152:

Same. Well, except for the totaling part! Got a package deal on a dirtbike I bought. Came with a ‘08 Honda shadow 750 for an extra $700. Too much weight, not enough power. All the danger none of the thrill! Sold it for a pretty good profit, then found the Z! That’s what i was looking for. Now kawi has caught up with my needs with the Z H2. Don’t miss my old Z one bit.

It seems that KTM didnt use thread locker on the head bearings and they work loose and cause a bad head shake. I fixed that on my 1290 and now it is headshaking for some other reason! The Kawasaki is always stable however.

Glad to hear the zh2 is stable! I had tightened my steering bearing the week before on the KTM and didn’t help, I was trying different suspension settings trying to make it better when I was unable to get one back under control... great bike but the head shake is a relatively common problem on it unfortunately

My ZH2 is my 51st motorcycle I've owned. My 26th brand new one. Prior to my 2016 Ninja 1000 I bought as a left-over in 2018, I only had 1 bike with a lot of computer controlled "nannies", my 2017 ZX-14R, and I only kept that for less than 300 miles of use. Honestly, I don't really care about most of the new tech new bikes come with. As long as the bike is 4 valve per cylinder, water cooled, fuel injected and an inline 4 cylinder, that's all I need.
Lean angle, power modes, traction control,G meter, even ABS or electronic cruise control isn't necessary to make me enjoy a bike. Didn't have most of those on my 2002 Ninja ZX-12R , my 2016 Suzuki Bandit 1250S or even my 2001 Honda CBR1100 XX Blackbird, and didn't care.

I can relate all to well to Z Man. Though probably I was through 50 in my first 10 years of riding. Everyone has an addiction and mine are wheels, water and wings. I am a little more flexible about motor type. I can appreciate them all for some reason or another. Though I don't think I could stand to ride another BMW opposed twin unless my life depended on it. I probably owned 30 BMW twins and while I get them so to speak, I am just really tired of them. OTOH I really enjoy my K1600, S1000RR and S1000XR. BMW really got it right with those motors. Few bikes sounds as amazing as an inline 6. I really regret selling my CBX years ago and the K1600GT was a good replacement in some ways.

As for rider aids, I am fine with them. They have gotten so good they don't feel very intrusive most of the time and can really save your butt.

My last bike was a 2016 Yamaha Mt10,and  a 2016 Africa Twin. The Africa Twin stayed.
