My point regarding the monocoque bodies, simply was in response to the inherent “age” weakness nature of carbon fiber resins breaking down at a molecular and undetectable level. Of course they have been making them since 1981, but I don’t really have any experience personally as to whether or not they take a 20-year-old carbon fiber frame and see what it takes to destroy it. I actually wasn’t interested in carbon fiber wheels anyway, I was hoping I could save 5 lbs and score some cheap ebay ZX 10 wheels from some rich ass mama’s boy who decided to put CF on his motorcycle LOL

While chasing a buddy up Monte Cristo in Utah, had a front row seat to view the rear CF wheel literally blow up on his immaculately maintained yellow 848. Wheels were less than two years old. He did his own tire changes along with everything else and was the kind of guy when it came to bike maintenance that combed his pubic hair.
