    Lithium Battery

Anyone tried a lithium battery in the Z H2? I installed a battery tender model BTL12A270CW. It fits perfectly without using the foam blocks. But, when I went for a ride it was running rough and the speedometer was jumping around +/- 10 mph at steady speed. Voltage on the display showed 16 volts while running. Guess I’ll have to scrap it.

Yes I did, and it works and fits perfectly: this is the model BCTZ10S-FP - LiFePO4 12V. I had a brief overview on the difference between the specs of mine and yours, it seems in your case the current is higher. Did you check the compatibility between the stock and the lithium one? In my case, before to purchase it, I checked in deep the new one could replace the original one.Anyway the weight saving is impressive, 2.3 kg!

Got a mate that runs the Anti Gravity lithium direct replacement model in his and no problems with it. I think they are 360CCA and about 2.2kg lighter.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I need to try a different brand.

I bought a Lithium battery today.
Is it as easy as just swapping it over, or is there some software that needs updating or anything strange?

Just swap over insuring it's the right dimensions and the terminals are the correct orientation...It's just a battery...

A heads up for anyone (in Aus) thinking of buying 1 of these lithium batteries BCTZ10S from BC Battery. Don’t do it. I’m pretty sure BC Battery have gone out of business. (In Australia at least). I purchased one from their website about a month and 1/2 ago. After 2 weeks with no show I tried contacting them. No responses via email or their ‘customer services’ chat on the website. They do not list a phone number on the website, only a WhatsApp contact which also went unanswered. I tried sending an email to the parent company in Italy. Also no response. They list a factory address in Tullamarine. I happened to be working on a job around the corner so I drove past 1 afternoon and the factory was closed and appeared unoccupied. In the end I had to contact my bank and get the transaction reversed. Thankfully received a full refund today. Ended up buying 1 from SSB (Super Sport batteries direct) which arrived in 2 days.

To this day, have had absolutely no reply or responses from BC Battery both here and in Italy however their website is still live and orders and payments can be made. Beware!

Good luck with the SSB lithium battery, I've had 3 of them fail on me over the years so I stopped buying them. We run Motocell Gold lithium batteries on all our race bikes and road bikes now and have never had one fail.
