The bike is absolutely rideable. I had Frank leave the throttle maps on mine completely stock (just the blades unrestricted). I want as much dynamic range on the throttle as possible. Unrestricted you just have to be more diligent on the throttle control in the lower gears and/or short shift. The fun aspect comes in in 3rd and 4th. Itís addictive. :)

For me I set my shift light to 11000 and shift at that point. I donít push to redline unless there is a need to do so.

That clarifies things a bit :)

Can you explain what you mean by this: "I had Frank leave the throttle maps on mine completely stock (just the blades unrestricted)" --> is this something that you requested specifically (and what is the reason for it)?

"The fun aspect comes in in 3rd and 4th." What makes it so much more fun and addictive than the standard bike?

Regards,

Mike

The simplified view is that the throttle angle to throttle blade angle is mapped. This mapping can be however you want it to be. Some want that mapping to be more aggressive so less rotation gives more power. That sounds great but for a pure street bike you want as much fine control as possibleÖ especially a bike like this where there is never a lack of power.

The acceleration to redline between stock and unrestricted is night and day.

Superfast service from Frank/SLR Tuning!  :152:

Mission completed.
But it will be some time until I can get the result verified "in Mexico" and/or a dyno.

I will report back. Most likely somtime next year (April when the snow has gone)  :001:

Nice! Can't wait to see the result :) what other mods did you do in combination with the ECU tune?

I have my SLR tool ready at home, I still need to do the flash procedure. Can't wait either but life is a bit busy and the weather is horrible....

Has anyone tried the launch control after the flash and what did it do?
